017 1956 Newport Jazz Festival

being a huge jazz fan, I always loved the 1950's record covers with their neo-abstract ( I just made that up) drawings on them to represent visually the rhythms found on the record. With this in mind as an inspiration, I designed this poster for the fictional 1956 Newport Beach Jazz Festival. This was originally designed for a Hollywood prop house and like many other posters in this collection may be seen in the background of movies, television shows and commercials.
